And here you go everybody, second chapter from hell. As usual, my snark is in purple.

The obstruction was a face, just an unremarkable human face, but I couldn’t quite seem to banish it from my mind.

While this quote is completely unremarkable, for me, it signals the obsession he'd develop on Bella. And yes, I'm not afraid to call it obsession.

Her thoughts were chagrined.

Ah and there it is, Meyer's favorite word.

I could not think of one place on the entire planet that held any interest for me.

I think this quote sums up perfectly Edward. He wants nothing with the world or the present. He's permanently stuck in the past. He has no curiosity, he has no wonder, he just exists.

Ghosting across the snow so quickly that her feet had no time to sink into the snow; she left no prints behind her.

So now Meyerpires are elves...

My mouth twisted with chagrin

What did I tell you about this word?

I didn’t like hurting Tanya, though her feelings were not deep, hardly pure, and, in any case, not something I could return.

And please note on the 'hardly pure', because this a hint at Meyer's own beliefs.

Several of the humans here were still thinking of that girl, still thinking the same thoughts from last week. Instead of finding this unutterably boring, I was now fascinated.

And here we go...

She must have wondered, after seeing my expression, whether she were the cause.

Another "plot" point. We know how Bella gets obsessed with Edward too.

A normal girl would have asked around, compared her experience to others, looked for common ground that would explain my behavior so she didn’t feel singled out.

We continue with the plot point, since Bella is worried about Edward and she freaks out at the thought of him.

To blend in with everyone else around them, like a featureless flock of sheep.

And Meyer continues to insult humanity.

This girl would be no exception to that rule.

Oh but she is, she's a Mary Sue.

I didn’t like the way his thoughts wrapped around her, the flicker of already established fantasies that clouded his mind

Of course not, but this highlights (again) Edward's possessiveness in regards to Bella.

Why did it bother me, the protective concern that suddenly emanated from Mike Newton’s thoughts? What did it matter that there was a possessive edge to them?

See, everybody is wrong to worry about someone. And Hades forbid it's someone who you are attracted to.

What is it about her? Jessica thought, echoing my own frustration.

She's a Mary Sue, so obviously everybody is going to stare.

“I don’t want to start over. We’re almost out of high school, Emmett. Finally.”

Here's a tip: Stop attending.

“How do you know my name?” she demanded, and her voice shook just a little.

And here is Bella being purposely dense. Considering that the whole freaking school community seems to know who she is. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't teachers have a list they check for class assistance?

It was very quick of her to pick up on my slip.

No you dumb imbecile, you could simply say that you'd assume she wouldn't mind being called 'Bella'.

Wish he’d stayed wherever he went, Mike thought, eyeing me sulfurously.

Check Meyer's use of big words, as if to prove she know what they mean.

She was advanced then, intelligent for a human. This did not surprise me.

Oh for fuck's sake. Here you go, more special snowflakeness.

She blinked her wide eyes

This is like the third time Meyer describes Bella's eyes as 'wide', man, that must be strange to look.

Unlike most humans, her own needs were far down the list.

Special snowflake.

She laughed, but there was no amusement the sound. “Hasn’t anyone ever told you? Life isn’t fair.”

Wow so Deep(tm)  Bella

She wasn’t the average martyr—she didn’t want an audience to her pain.

Life is suffering and Bella is SO hard.

Or, maybe you kill her. He shrugged. You wouldn’t be the first one to mess up. No one would judge you too harshly.

Yeah no one would judge harshly murder. YAY at these protagonists!

“Esta bien, Edward?” Senora Goff asked

“Me perdona,” I muttered, as I darted for the door.

“Emmett—por favor, puedas tu ayuda a tu hermano?”

Ah how lovely, butchered Spanish, specially from a Spanish teacher. Awesome. Note for Meyer: If you don't know the language, don't use it. You'll only fuck up, specially you miss "Left coast of Brazil".

She stared into her rearview mirror, her mouth hanging open with chagrin.

And there's the word again.
